Repalle (Guntur): A constable of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Dasari Rajesh Babu of Chodeyapalem, in Repalle mandal of Guntur district, has been accused by a woman, Rohini, of the village, of cheating after promising marriage. He had fallen in love with her for five years. She lodged a police complaint against Babu charging him with refusal to marry, after making her pregnant. Subsequently she delivered the baby boy and now he is two-year-old.

The constable allegedly told her that he had loved one Anjali and that he would have married her, but for Rohini being an obstacle. He also offered money to the complainant. But Rohini is insisting that he should be her husband. She has been approaching the Chodayapalem police since two months; but the police are ‘indifferent’ to her pleas, Rohini alleged. She had approached the police on June 15, 2012, after Babu allegedly refused to marry her, when she was pregnant. Scared that he would lose the job, he settled for a registered marriage on July 16 here. He allegedly disappeared for one year, after claiming that his leave was over.

Rohini had approached the then SP Satyanarayana and lodged a complaint. Babu reportedly asked her to withdraw the complaint, promising to be with her. After she withdrew it, he again went missing. Her in-laws disclaimed any knowledge about Babu.
