Lecturer attacked over love marriage

Hyderabad: A private college lecturer received grievous injuries on Thursday, when a close relative of his wife attacked him for marrying her without her parent’s consent.

According to Chaitanyapuri police, Maheshwar Reddy, 32, a lecturer in a private college and Gayatri, 23, his cousin had love marriage recently. Parents of the girl were against the marriage. Provoked by their helplessness, maternal uncle of Gayatri, Parmeshwara Reddy, 35, attacked the lecturer on Thursday afternoon with a rod. With bleeding injuries, the victim was shifted to a private hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Police investigation is on.ss
