Hyderabad: Former MP and senior TDP leader Nandamuri Harikrishna’s eldest son Janakiram died in a road accident at Akupamula in Nalgonda district in Telangana on Saturday evening. He is survived by wife and two sons. Janikiram was on his way to Vijayawada from Hyderabad when the accident occurred. The speeding vehicle (Tata Safari) in which he was travelling rammed into a tractor when it came across the road.

The impact was such that Janakiram was crushed inside the vehicle. Local people extricated him from the mangled remains of the vehicle and rushed him to a private hospital in Kodad. He sustained critical injuries and succumbed in the hospital. The body was shifted to Hyderabad and handed over to his family after post-mortem.

Janakiram was neither in politics nor had he at any time actively interacted with the media. He used to take care of the production of films under NTR Arts Banner. He produced several films with his brother Kalyanram as hero.

On hearing the tragic news, NTR family members rushed to Harikrishna’s residence in Hyderabad. A pal of gloom descended on Harikrishana’s residence. The bereaved family members were inconsolable. Harikrishna broke down, saying the god had deceived him once again.

APChief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who was in a meeting with Telangana Telugu Desam leaders at NTR Trust Bhavan rushed to Harikrishna’s residence. Several noted personalities of film industry and political leaders visited the TDP leader’s house. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy and others expressed shock over the untimely death of Janakiram.
