Two labourers, who were brothers, were killed as the wall of an agricultural well collapsed under the limits of Korepalle gram panchayat in Jammikunta mandal of Karimnagar district on Thursday.
Jammikunta (Karimnagar): Two labourers, who were brothers, were killed as the wall of an agricultural well collapsed under the limits of Korepalle gram panchayat in Jammikunta mandal of Karimnagar district on Thursday. The mishap occurred at Venkateswarapalli village. The wall of the agricultural well collapsed while a new agricultural well was being dug in an adjacent area using a poclainer.
The two workers immediately fell into a 20-metre pit. As silt accumulated in the pit, the labourers died on the spot. On receipt of information from the well owner Ramadugu Sampath Rao, the villagers informed the police. Circle Inspector G Srinivas visited the spot and secured details related to the mishap. Members of the bereaved family wept inconsolably following the death of two members of the family. Incidentally, the two brothers married two sisters.
