Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) on Tuesday has arrested three persons on charges of making fake driving licences for motorists. Police seized 23 fake driving licences, a colour printer-cum-scanner, a computer, 32 empty cards and five cell phones from their possession.

According to police, the racketeers offered to get licences for anywhere between Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,000 each, without the motorists having to visit regional transport offices. Those arrested have been identified as Shaik Abdul Aziz, 56, agent at RTA office, Guntur, Bellapu Srinivas, 52, of Meerpet and Nakka Krishna, 24, of Guntur.

“Abdul earlier worked as an agent at RTA in Guntur for 15 years and presently running a driving school. He came in contact with Srinivas who used to contact persons in need of driving licences. The other accused, Krishna, helped in preparing fake driving licences at his shop, Krishna Stickers,” Additional DCP (SOT) E Ramachandra Reddy said.
