A statement the high commission issued through the office of AP minister in charge of NRI affairs, Dr Palle Raghunath Reddy said that large number of Indian Laborers come to Malaysia for gainful employment, but are invariably are misguided by unscrupulous agents for pecuniary gains.

The spokesman of the High commission said individuals traveling to Malaysia on social visit pass are liable to be arrested and detained in prison or detention camp if they chose to work. They should have a valid employment pass and should not be misled by the misrepresentation of facts by agents and become victim of immigration violations and get arrested in Malaysia. The appeal said several cases of Indian nationals misled and cheated by agents who handed over package/packets/equipments to carry to Malaysia on promises of money/tourist visit/employment.But most were arrested on arrival with drugs placed in these packages.
