Anusha and Divyasri, friends at Halahalli in Mandya district of Karnataka; While Anusha ran a mobile shop in their town, Divyasri completed MS in computers and also joined a B Ed course. On March 8th, Divyasri got married to a Techie of Bengaluru which caused friction between both the childhood friends as Anusha even tried to scuttle the wedding earlier.
However, when Divyasri came home for Ugadi festival, Anusha took her for a long ride to an isolated location and strangled her to death with a wire.
Leaving the body behind, she was caught on by the Police who found the body two days later through the amount of calls Divyasri received from Anusha on the day she was killed. During the interrogation, Anusha broke down and confessed her ‘intimate’ relations with Divyasri which was the reason behind not wanting her friend to get married.
