Couple arrested in child trafficking racket. a child-selling racket was busted in Nalgonda district, Telangana when a woman who allegedly sold an 18-month-old girl and the couple who bought the baby was arrested and a case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

Deputy Superintendent of Police G Chandra Mohan said that the woman, identified as Kamli, who worked with Congress earlier and a former vice-sarpanch was arrested for selling the child for around Rs 10,000 to the couple from Guntur district. He added that the child was rescued and has been sent to a child home.
The DSP stated that Kamli is accused of selling babies earlier who added that at least 3-4 persons are suspected to be involved in the child trafficking racket.
