As many as 48 persons, including eight women dancers, were arrested for allegedly indulging in obscene acts at a resort in Shadnagar town of Mahabubnagar district in Telangana, police said on Sunday.
Based on information, police raided the resort premises late on Saturday night and found that 48 persons, including female dancers, who were brought from Hyderabad, were dancing in an obscene manner," Shadnagar Sub-Inspector Shankeraiah said.
A case was booked against all the accused persons under section-294 (obscene acts and songs) and other relevant sections of the IPC and all of them were arrested, he said. No narcotic drugs were seized from the spot, Shankeraiah said. The police are investigating.
