Hyderabad: An elderly woman was robbed of her five sovereign gold chain after a man entered her house at Nagarjuna Nagar Colony, under Kushaiguda police station limits on Tuesday evening. According to the complainant, Lakshmi alias Urmi, 60, wife of Hanumantha Rao, a stranger knocked at the door and inquired whether an apartment above her floor was available for rent.
When the woman opened the door to answer his query, he pushed her down, snatched her chain and fled on his bike. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at a private hospital. A case has been registered, sub-inspector Suresh Babu said.
