TTD staffer caught smuggling prasadam

Tirupati: Even as memory of “fake laddu token” scam remains green in the minds of devotees, the officials of the Vigilance and Security wing of the TTD on Thursday caught an employee red-handed while he was allegedly smuggling out “prasadam” in bulk to Bangalore.

The officials identified the man apprehended as Yerram Reddy, an inspector at the temple. On a tip-off, the officials caught him near Sri Venkateswara University campus here. The officials said the employee was found in possession of 15 loaddu, 15 vada and 200 small laddu prasadams. It is yet to ascertained whether the employee had secured the prasadam through counter after paying required amount.
