Heat wave claims 85 lives in TS, AP

Hyderabad: As many as 45 people died of sunstroke in different districts of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Fourteen deaths were reported in Prakasam, seven in Srikakulam, five in Krishna, four each in Anantapur and Nellore, three in Visakhapatnam, two each in Vizianagaram, Kadapa, West Godavari and one each in Kurnool and Chittoor districts.

As the day temperatures were above normal and the heat wave continued in Telangana, more than 40 persons died of sunstroke during the day. The victims included seven in Khammam, six in Warangal, five each in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Medak, four in Karimnagar, and three each in Adilabad, Ranga Reddy, besides two in Mahabubnagar district.
