Tourists miss out on Papikondalu visit due to Pushkarams. The dream destination of tourists is fading into darkness. The nature lovers are now in deep distress as they are missing out om the beauty of tribal villages covered with greenery and the scenic view of river Godavari after the stoppage of tourist boats to Papikondalu in river Godavari.
Koruturu is now the best alternative

In view of the Godavari Pushkarams, the officials in West Godavari cancelled the Papikondalu tour. All Private boats have been taken by the officials to use for the security at Pushkara Ghats. Even the Pushkara pilgrims who took holy dip in the Godavari River did not get a chance to visit Papikondalu.
During Holidays and weekend days, the tourists reach Kovvuru, Pattiseema areas to go to Papikondalu on tourist boats. Besides tourism boats private organisations also run the boats during seasons. Usually during this time around every year, from Kovvuru to Koruturu (Polavaram Mandal) all the areas on the banks of River godavari filled with the visitors.
On the way to Papikondalu, the tourists visit the Gandi Pochamma temple, Peratalapalli Shiva Temple. Besides this, they also enjoy the seeing the green forest area on the banks of river Godavari and in between the forest trees some tribal villages.
The boats start from 9am to Polavaram area in West Godavari and Purusothapalli of East Godavari. It takes about almost 12 hours to reach Papikondalu. This time, the Godavari Pushkarams has become a hurdle to the tourists. However, the tourists can visit Koruturu by bus.
In Koruturu ITDA opened resorts for the purpose of tourists. From Polavarm the tourist have to travel 30 km, to reach Koruturu resorts. The officials have to take necessary steps to revive the tourist boats to Papikondalu and Koruturu resorts.
