7 year old girl kidnapped
A seven-year-old girl was kidnapped by unidentified persons in Kanigiri on Thursday. The kidnappers called her mother and threatened to kill the girl if police are involved. Devireddy Srinivasula Reddy and his wife Malleswari are government teachers and residents of Kanigiri. They have two girls namely Lasya and Sahasra aged about nine and seven years respectively.
Kanigiri: A seven-year-old girl was kidnapped by unidentified persons in Kanigiri on Thursday. The kidnappers called her mother and threatened to kill the girl if police are involved. Devireddy Srinivasula Reddy and his wife Malleswari are government teachers and residents of Kanigiri. They have two girls namely Lasya and Sahasra aged about nine and seven years respectively.
On Thursday, after the completion of their half-day school, the girls were dropped by their father at their residence. Just after a few moments he dropped them, two persons dragged Sahasra onto a motor-cycle and fled.The girls’ grandmother said, “After hearing Sahasra’s cries for help, I along with neighbours ran after the bike, but were unable to catch the speeding vehicle. The two persons on the bike were wearing helmets and couldn’t be identified.”
After receiving a complaint from the family members, police started searching at Kanigiri, Podili, Marripudi and all the nearby areas in teams. In the meantime, the girl’s mother received a phone call from the kidnappers who didn’t speak about any ransom but demanded not to involve the police in the issue.
