Father, son killed in road accident
A man and his son were killed in a road accident at Kothavagu cross near Rajupet in Mangapet Mandal on Sunday. The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw, in which the deceased were travelling, was hit by a lorry carrying sand load. The deceased were identified as Rachakonda Narsaiah (60) and his son, Kumar (32) of Manuguru in Khammam district.

The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw, in which the deceased were travelling, was hit by a lorry carrying sand load. The deceased were identified as Rachakonda Narsaiah (60) and his son, Kumar (32) of Manuguru in Khammam district.
Narsaiah and his son Kumar were on their way back to Manuguru in their auto after meeting their relatives at Mallur in the mandal when the accident took place. Narsaiah died on the spot while Kumar, who was driving the auto, got stuck in the vehicle. Passersby pulled Kumar out of the auto, but he died on the way to hospital.
The lorry driver fled the scene soon after the accident. Based on the complaint filed by Narsaiah’s wife Ailamma, Mangapet Sub-Inspector N Srikanth Reddy registered a case.
