Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force Police on Saturday arrested a cook from Bihar for stealing cars and bikes. Rajan Kumar Raut, who hails from Samada village in Bihar, was caught by the sleuths of Task Force on Friday when he was moving a stolen vehicle. Rajan along with his childhood friend Rajesh came to Hyderabad and worked as a cook in various houses.
The duo met one Prakash, a city resident, who worked as a servant in the house of a private employee. As their earnings were not sufficient, they planned to steal cars and bikes and sell them. Accordingly Rajesh and Prakash stole the keys to their owners’ cars and gave them to Rajan.
The cars were taken to Bihar and from there, paraded as taxis to Nepal and disposed of there. Recently, they stole three cars and a bike in Banjara Hills. The police arrested Rajan and recovered the vehicles worth Rs 50 lakh from him. While Rajan has been sent to judicial remand, Prakash and Rajesh are still at large.
