​Nalgonda: Four persons died and six others were injured when a TSRTC bus hit an autorickshaw near Kalvapally village of Gurrampode mandal in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Goddeti Alivelu (45), Maddi Srinaiah (45), Mounika (18) and Eedamma (60), all belonging to same family.

The accident occurred when the RTC bus hit the autorickshaw coming in opposite direction while trying to overtake another vehicle.

The victims were going to Pogakuvarigudem village of PA Pally mandal in the autorickshaw to attend a relative’s death ceremony.

The police shifted the six injured to Devarakonda Area Hospital by 108 ambulance. Three of the injured were shifted to Hyderabad as their condition was serious.

The bodies were shifted to Devarakonda Area Hospital for post-mortem. According to Gurrampode Sub-Inspector Venkata Saikishore, the bus driver’s negligence caused the accident. A case was registered and further investigation is on.

Minister expresses grief
Minister for Transport Mahender Reddy, in a press release, expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident at Kalvapally village.

He directed the officials to ensure better treatment to the injured. Stringent action would be taken against the driver, who was responsible for the accident, the Minister said in the press release.
