Woman caught with counterfeit currency
In another incident of fake notes, a woman was caught with a duplicate Rs 2000 currency note, while purchasing wine from a Wine shop in Wanaparthy district on Thursday.
Mahbubnagar: In another incident of fake notes, a woman was caught with a duplicate Rs 2000 currency note, while purchasing wine from a Wine shop in Wanaparthy district on Thursday.
According to Wine shop owner, the woman had earlier visited his shop and purchased wine for Rs 2000. Not noticing the note earlier, the wine shop owner later realized that he had been duped with a duplicate note.
The next day morning, the same woman came to his shop for wine with another duplicate note. The alert shop owner caught the woman and verified the two notes and realised both the notes were having the same serial numbers.
After carefully examining both the notes, the shop owner called the police and handed over the woman. The Wanaparthy district police have booked a case against the woman and are further investigating to find the roots of the counterfeit note.
