Couple murdered in farmhouse
An agriculture worker and his wife were murdered by unidentified persons at a farmhouse in a mango grove where there working and living at Subbaiah Gunta village, 25 km from here, under Renigunta mandal in Chittoor district late on Sunday night.

The victims have been identified as Seenaiah, 45, and his wife Indranama, 42, both working in a mango garden of Sadasiva Reddy of the same village. The murder took place when they were sleeping in motor pump shed of in the garden.
Police sources said the assailants tied Indranamma’s legs with a rope and might have raped her before killing her in an open field nearby. They are suspected to have killed husband Seenaiah too even as he tried to prevent them from attacking his wife.
Police also said the miscreants hit Seenaiah on head with iron rods, killing him instantly. Villagers who noticed the bodies of the couple alerted Renigunta rural police. Renigunta urban CI Balaiah registered a case and began investigation.
CLUES team and dog squad were pressed into action. Sniffer dogs went up to Mallavaram road and stopped there. CI Balaiah said that exact reason of the couple’s murders is yet to be established.
