Man kills wife, commits suicide
A man committed suicide by hanging after beating up his wife to death at Duvva village in Tanuku mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday.
Tanuku: A man committed suicide by hanging after beating up his wife to death at Duvva village in Tanuku mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday.
According to police, Gade Srinivasa Rao, 35, married Varalakshmi, 31, 11 years ago. Both belong to Duvva village. Srinivasa Rao used to pick up quarrel frequently with his wife. Unable to bear his harassment, Varalakshmi even attempted suicide two times in the last 11 years.
On Sunday night, Srinivasa Rao again entered into a heated exchange with his wife. Varalakshmi was found dead with injuries on her body on Sunday morning. Neighbours who entered the house found Srinivasa Rao’s body hanging from the ceiling and alerted Tanuku rural police.
Varalakshmi brother Pamarthi Venkateswara Rao told Tanuku police that the couple were having a troubled marriage for a long time. He also revealed that Srinivasa Rao had been suffering from an unknown disease from before the marriage, which was concealing by elders.
“My sister, on knowing of the disease, maintained her distance from her husband. Even then he tried to torture her and on Saturday night also he again picked up a quarrel with her and abused her,” he alleged.
