Hyderabad: A minor who was rescued from an organised brothel in Sarojini Nagar of Sangareddy district earlier this month, breathed her last on Monday while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital (OGH).

The 15-year-old girl was among the 30 victims rescued by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on March 1. The girl was shifted to a rehabilitation home at Thukkuguda along with another minor victim.

However, she was taken to a private hospital after she complained of pain in kidney and from there to OGH as her condition was critical, said Pahadishareef Inspector, P Laxmikanth Reddy.

The girl succumbed at hospital while undergoing treatment. The remains were handed over to the family of the victim after post-mortem, he added.

The minor’s death shows the pathetic condition in which the victims of human trafficking were living in. It may be recalled that out of the 30 victims rescued by the CID, 10 were minor girls, one of them as young as 13 years.

Inspector General of CID, Sowmya Mishra had said that one minor girl was suffering from severe breathing problem with both of her legs swollen at the time of raid.

The brothel owners denied treatment for the girl and forced her to entertain ten customers a day. It was the same girl who died at the OGH while undergoing treatment, police officials said.
