Four women were arrested for allegedly stealing sarees and dresses worth Rs 24,000 from Sri Krishnasai Sari Center at Tatagudi Center in the temple town on Thursday. The arrested were identified as Jinukudi Divya Bharati, Jinukudi Kumari, Nallakunta Savitri and Mutta Buchhamma of Mustafanagar in Khammam.

Bhadrachalam: Four women were arrested for allegedly stealing sarees and dresses worth Rs 24,000 from Sri Krishnasai Sari Center at Tatagudi Center in the temple town on Thursday. The arrested were identified as Jinukudi Divya Bharati, Jinukudi Kumari, Nallakunta Savitri and Mutta Buchhamma of Mustafanagar in Khammam.

According to police, the four came to the saree center on Wednesday and asked the shop owner M Satyanarayana to show some sarees. Acting as if they were checking the sarees, one of them opened the saree and under its cover, they stole the rest of the sarees and dresses.

The shop owner, who found the sarees and dresses missing, immediately complained about the theft to the police. Soon the police caught them at Rajupeta when they were found moving suspiciously. Upon questioning the four admitted to the theft. Police arrested them and recovered the stolen apparel.
