Jealous fiance strangled Soumya to death
Unable to cope with the fact that his fiance was active on social media and she had numerous online contacts, the accused, K Krishnaiah, ‘in a fit of rage’ killed the 19-yr old Soumya. He also suspected that she was having an affair with some other youth.

The Jeedimetla police which received the custody of K Krishnaiah from Kukatpally police on Saturday presented him before the media.
The accused, a cab driver, said that in a fit of rage after seeing pictures of her with other persons and noticing that she indulges in chat with someone else, he killed her.
However, he clarified that he never intended to murder her. The degree first year student was strangled to death in Kukatpally on Friday evening by Krishnaiah, who was about to marry her.
Later after dumping her body in the IDL lake near Kukatpally, he surrendered himself to the police. The family members, who already registered a missing complaint at Jeedimetla police station, were in a shock to know that the victim's fiancé was responsible for her death.
The police on Saturday fished out her body from the lake and shifted it to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. Krishnaiah, in his statement, informed police that on several occasions, he had objected and sometimes warned her to stop chatting with other college boys.
“On Friday evening, the couple went to the Chintal forest area where, after an altercation, he strangled her to death. He packed the body in a gunny bag and brought it on his motorcycle to IDL lake and dumped it there,’’ said an official.
