Thief held for stealing laptops, phones

Hyderabad: The SR Nagar police arrested a habitual offender who indulged in stealing smartphones and laptops from hostel inmates. He was caught following CCtv analysis by the crime team. He targeted the hostel rooms during early morning hours.

According to police, the accused Syed Raouf Pasha, 28, resident of Kishanbagh, Bahadurpura, was addicted to vices. He was earlier lodged in jail after being arrested in similar cases during 2015. The Panjagutta police also invoked Preventive Detention Act against him in 2016.

However, after serving in jail for one year, he began with his old ways and this time targeted women hostel. He posed himself as purchaser of old beds and performed recce and later used to enter the rooms when no one noticed him and committed theft of electronic items.
