77-year-old woman raped and attacked by youth in Hyderabad
In a bizarre incident which took place here in Hyderabad, where a 22-year-old man allegedly attacked and raped a 77-year-old woman at her residence on Monday.
Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident which took place here in Hyderabad, where a 22-year-old man allegedly attacked and raped a 77-year-old woman at her residence on Monday.
According to Mailardevpally Inspector P Jagadeeshwar, the accused has been identified as P Vamshi, who is a daily wage labourer and a resident of Babul Reddy Nagar.
Around 1pm he noticed that the woman was alone in the house, taking the advantage of the situation he barged into her house and raped her.
He also tried to kill her by hitting her on the head with an axe and a stick, but as she sounded the alarm. He fled from the spot before the neighbours could arrive.
Victim’s grandson took her to the hospital with the help of neighbours, where her condition is said to be out of danger.
Police, who booked a case of rape and attempt to murder against the accused. and have launched a manhunt for Vamshi. They are also examining CCTV footage.
