Girl drowns in Cholleru rivulet in Yadagirigutta
A girl drowned while crossing Cholleru rivulet under Yadagirigutta mandal on Thursday. It came to light on Friday The deceased was identified as Sony (15), native of Killa in Warangal.

According to the sources, Sony arrived at Vangapally railway station by a train to visit her grandmother at Cholleru under Yadagirigutta mandal. After alighting the train, she tried to contact her uncle Prakash several times, but he could not respond as he was busy.
She, then, travelled to Marriguda village by an auto-rickshaw. While crossing the Cholleru rivulet to reach her grandmother’s house, she was swept away by strong currents and fell into a 10 feet pit formed in the rivulet.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, a farmer Gandhamalla Gallaiah of Cholleru, while crossing the rivulet found the body of a girl floating in the pit and informed the same to villagers. Sony’s uncle Praskh and her grandmother identified the body as that of Sony.
Sub-Inspector Sainath reached the spot and shifted the body of to Area Hospital in Bhongir for post-mortem.
