Hyderabad: The authorities have been taking keen interest to conduct the EAMCET Entrance test 2014 on May 22, in a smooth and secured manner. The Entrance test for engineering will be scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, while the Entrance Test for Agriculture and Medical Entrances will be held from 2.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m. As many as 523 centres have been established for Engineering Entrance, while 227 centres have been established for agriculture and medical entrance tests in the state.
The authorities have sought security related arrangements from the police department. A tight security is envisaged for the said examinations. The late comers will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.
A total of 3,95, 650 candidates have applied for EAMCET this year as the deadline for registration even with late fee of Rs 10,000 draw to a close on Monday evening. The exam will be held on May 22 and all arrangements have been in place,.
According to Prof. NV Ramana Rao, the convener of EAMCET, a total of 2, 82,799 have registered for engineering and 1, 12,851 for agriculture and medical. In medical stream, the total number of girls applied for the test was 30,000 more than that of boys which is a record of sorts. While only 41,402 boys applied for AM stream, the number of girls registered was 71,449. Even for agricultural BSc, the number of girls applying for the test has been consistently on the rise due to huge job potential in the agricultural field.
