UGC: Mother’s name must on academic certificates!!
UGC: Mother’s Name Must on Academic Certificates!!. The University Grants Commission (UGC) in its order has clearly made it a mention that all certificates being issued by the Universities should include the name of the mother of the candidate in them. Such orders have been passed to the Vice Chancellors of all universities in India by the UGC.

Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission (UGC) in its order has clearly made it a mention that all certificates being issued by the Universities should include the name of the mother of the candidate in them. Such orders have been passed to the Vice Chancellors of all universities in India by the UGC. Also, UGC has made it clear that in various application forms used for the admission process should also bear the mother’s name column. Upamanyu Basu, the UGC’s in charge Secretary, has passed orders to this effect.
From the other end, UGC has also given orders to the universities that they should not offer any such degrees which have not been recognised by UGC and asked the universities to not act at their will. UGC has instructed the universities that in case of the introduction of a new degree programme, the same should be brought into their notice before 6 months of the proposed date of commencement of course so as to obtain necessary permission from UGC.
