The Minister of Information Technology and Panchayat Raj, K Taraka Rama Rao inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp on Saturday. Speaking to the audience, Rao highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and indicated that students of Telangana are equally skilled and capable of creating companies like Facebook, Whatsapp etc. He informed that Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge would be set up in the state to groom engineering students and bridge the gap between the skills required by industry and concepts taught in colleges. He said the government was preparing a comprehensive IT policy, first of its kind in the world, and an IT Incumbency Centre would be set up in the State.
Around 200 colleges have participated in the two-day job fair.
