Symbiosis Law School ties up with University College Cork

Mumbai: Ireland's University College Cork (UCC) said it has signed an agreement with Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, to integrate their research and training efforts in the field of Law.

The objective of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) is to help both students and faculty gain wider exposure through various exchange programmes, according to a release.

The collaboration will lead to the design of special curricula and advanced research in various fields such as IP Law, Information Technology, Corporate Governance, Environmental Law, Comparative Legal Research and Human Rights.

Symbiosis Law School Dean Professor Shashikala Gurpur, said, "In view of common history and credentials of excellence at national and international levels, this relationship adds value in terms of cross–border knowledge sharing and expertise building among faculty and students.

"It will help rediscover our strengths in post-colonial emancipation into being strong powers through mobility and knowledge creation."

This collaboration will not only provide an excellent opportunity for students to significantly enhance their abilities, but also give them necessary tools to be successful global leaders tomorrow, said Christopher Shepard, International Coordinator and Vice Chair- India Strategy Group, University College Cork said. Through our effective collaborative research programmes, we hope to greatly enhance the learning process, he added.
