Hyderabad: The Osmania University will organise a series of lectures to improve the language skills, soft skills and life skills of its students. The Equal Opportunities Cell of the university will coordinate these activities and help students become focused. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, OU Registrar Prof E Suresh Kumar said the lectures would be organised under the University Grants Commission (UGC) provision of “Human Rights and Duties – Education” and the first lecture under this series would be delivered by the renowned Psychiatrist Dr P Nagesh on January 23 at 2 pm at Tagore Auditorium, OU campus.

He said at least two lectures would be organised every month under this provision. Prof Suresh Kumar further added the students and scholars of the OU campus and constituent colleges could attend these lectures to acquire communication and employability skills along with the degree that they pursue and settle early in life. He also said the Language Training Centres would also be set up in all the constituent colleges and urged the students to make use of this opportunity.

Dr P Vishnu Dev, Coordinator, Equal Opportunities Cell, OU said the cell imparts remedial coaching, coaching for NET and SET and competitive coaching thus making the students confident about their abilities and easily acquire employment.
