First High School in Asia to Collaborate with Bloomberg on Innovation Curriculum

SINGAPORE: Stamford American International School (Stamford American) has collaborated with Bloomberg -- a first for any high school in Asia -- to launch its new Innovation Center today, complete with an exciting Innovation Curriculum.

With the newly launched Innovation Center, the latest milestone in the school's legacy of progressive education, Stamford American aims to provide students with real-world exposure to the business and financial world -- equipping students with analytical skills and business acumen from an early age.

"At Stamford American International School, our mission has always been to provide excellent education with cutting-edge facilities, teaching methods and learning environments. We are excited to embark on this pilot phase of our Innovation Curriculum -- setting a new benchmark for excellence in international education in Singapore," said Mr Malcolm Kay, Superintendent, Stamford American.

The Center includes a financial laboratory equipped with the Bloomberg Professional service, the leading information platform used by over 320,000 financial professionals worldwide. Stamford American students can now access news stories as they break, perform market analysis, compare investment strategies and analyze specific companies, all within a guided academic environment.

"In the same way that technology has transformed financial markets worldwide, it has the potential to set new standards for practical teaching and to nurture the next generation of young minds," said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg LP. "We are delighted to collaborate with the first high school in Asia with a Bloomberg-equipped lab, giving students their first view into the dynamic world of global business and high finance."

During the official launch, guests were given a tour of the Innovation Centre and witnessed a live simulation demo session of the high-school curriculum.

"I welcome the inauguration of the Innovation Center. This collaboration between Stamford American International School and Bloomberg represents the best of America and an exciting model of top names in business and education coming together to invest in the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in Singapore and beyond," said Mr. Kirk Wagar, the United States Ambassador to Singapore.
