School of Broadcasting and Communication will be conducting hands- on intensive filmmaking course in Mumbai from April 22. Renowned filmmaker and National Award Winner, Shilpi Das Gupta and Satish Bhatia will conduct the 15-day course at School of Broadcasting and Communication.

The 15-day course will cover basic aspects of Direction, Screenwriting, Production, Camera, Lighting and Editing. School of Broadcasting and Communication has designed and developed an intensive program to develop an understanding of the grammar of visual storytelling and collaborative nature of filmmaking.
The program imparts theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the craft of filmmaking and familiarises you with all the aesthetic aspects to appreciate cinema as an art form,” said Tushir Choudhary, Managing Director, School of Broadcasting and Communication. The students will be given the opportunity to make their own short film as part of the curriculum. The interesting part of this filmmaking course is that there is no age bar.

ABOUT THE FACULTY Shilpi Dasgupta: A recipient of prestigious National Award as Best Director for Mangali, Shilpi’s film, Sanshodhan was also selected by Govt of India for the Goa International Film festival (IFFI).
She was the Assistant Director for Yuvvraaj and Black and White. Shilpi had written screen play for Fukrey directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. She has couple of credits in writing for TV Fan Club (Movie) and writing dialogues for TV serial, CID. Shilpi has done MA in Mass Communication and Diploma in Film Direction from FTII.
Satish Bhatia: With over 25 years of experience with Doordarshan, he was the 1st Indian Cinematographer to visit the United Nations and The White house. He has made several renowned Television shows like Yeh jo hein zindegi amongst other productions. He has done his Bachelor’s Degree from Punjab University and a Diploma in Cinema from FTII, Pune.
