The Karnataka government will take a decision on lifting of the night travel ban in Bandipur forest reserve within two months.
At present, the travel ban is in place between 9 pm and 6 am. Kerala wanted the duration be shortened by two hours-from 10 pm to 5 am. Now, Kerala and Karnataka are operating 8 buses each. Kerala also demanded the number of buses be raised on convoy basis.
An expert committee will study the recommendations and will submit a report. Accordingly, a decision will be taken within two months. Oomen Chandy had reached Bengaluru to discuss the matter following the SC allotting six-week's time to arrive at a consensus.
