New Delhi: Media reports have it that residents of Maldives Island saw a “low flying plane” in the morning the Malaysia Airlines flightMH370 mysteriously went off the grid.

Residents of the remote Maldives island of Kuda Huvadhoo said they saw a “low-flying plane” in the wee hours of March 8, the day the flight disappeared. The residents also indicated that it was a white aircraft with red stripes across it like the planes operated by Malaysia Airlines.

Eyewitnesses pointed out that the flight was flying north to south-east, towards the southern tip of the Maldives, Addu Island. They recounted hearing a particularly loud noise when it flew across the sky.

The Malaysia airlines jet MH370 disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board after taking off from Kuala Lumpur bound for Beijing.

Investigating officials are stating that it was purposefully diverted off its path. Twenty-six countries are now helping Malaysian Government hunt for the plane. Satellite and military radar data have already indicated two huge arcs across the globe through which it might have flown.

What we know till now is that the transponder was disabled after 40 minutes of flight time at about 1.21 am. It stopped transmitting and the aircraft lost touch with the ground control. Later, at 2.14 am, about an hour and a half after the plane took off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian military radar identified the plane in northern part of the Strait of Malacca. This is MH370’s last known confirmed position.

A satellite picked up the last signal at 8.11 am and that was the last signal before it disappeared. This suggests that MH370 was diverted off its northward course to Beijing and it was somewhere in a geographical radius covering the range between Kazakhstan to the Indian Ocean west of Australia.

Bloggers, writers, and avid have incredible conspiracies about the disappearance right from hijacking to alien interception. Many also suspect a meteor strike. However, the most striking theory is the Bermuda triangle effect. The plane a few suggest had the misfortune of travelling into a region in SouthEast Asia similar to the Bermuda Triangle, an area in the Caribbean where a number of aircraft and ships have gone missing in the past under mysterious circumstances.
