People mock at me when I tell them that I haven’t visited Reshmi’s Classic Dabha having lived in secunderabad all my life, that’s the kind of popularity this place brings in. I was here one afternoon along with few friends who have visited Reshmi’s quite a few times.

People mock at me when I tell them that I haven’t visited Reshmi’s Classic Dabha having lived in secunderabad all my life, that’s the kind of popularity this place brings in. I was here one afternoon along with few friends who have visited Reshmi’s quite a few times.

True to its name, the interiors were “Classic” and attention to minute details is choice fully done. Once seated, a jar with cool water with mint leaves was placed, it was quite refreshing to start with. Since I was with friends who have been here quite a few times, i left the options for them to choose.
Started with the Tandoori Chicken which was a little spicier than what I had expected it to be, but brilliant in its taste, it was not completely burnt like most of the other places do, it was perfectly made the way I wanted it to be. I especially liked the plating where it comes with a candle placed inside a vegetable, and the two variants of salads along with mint chutney.
As per the general norm with Punjabi restaurants instead of Butter chicken and Butter Paneer, we opted for Tawa Kheema, Smoked Chicken, Highway Dal and different varieties of Naans. The tawa Kheema was just outstanding, never have I had such superb Kheema in a Punjabi restaurant, The Smoked Chicken was another delight, the actual meaning of “Smoked” could be felt in it flavor which perfectly went well with Cheese Garlic Naan & Butter Naan ordered. The Highway Dal was a little spicier variant of the regular dal and this too was pretty good.
To finish off a meal with deserts, with heavy stomach ordered for a portion of Patiyala Lassi and their signature Super Casatta. With a dash of Rooh Afza and few cashews, the patiyala lassi was thick and creamy. The Casatta icecream was huge and could easily suffice two people. Slight delays in the orders, but otherwise the service is good!
The owners were prompt to suggest us the best in the menu, and ensured that we had a great experience. On a final note, without any second opinion, Reshmi’s is one of the hidden gems at least in the secunderabad area, they being in business for 25 years should talk about its reputation! Thumbs up for this one!
