A five-day national food and agro bio diversity festival named \'Annam\' aimed at spreading awareness on traditional and agro biodiversity concluded here today.

A five-day national food and agro bio diversity festival named 'Annam' aimed at spreading awareness on traditional and agro biodiversity concluded here today.


The festival, which began on December 9, had around 200 stalls of variety food makers showcasing variety of items.

The major attraction was exhibition of lesser known local dishes brought by villagers made of indigenous produces.

Dishes prepared with uncooked vegetables, tribal food and feast of the jackfruit dishes were also showcased at the festival along with many more unique preparations.

This is the third time the city is hosting such an event which ahjs become an annual fare.

Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), a leading NGO, organized the event with support from Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Food & Civil Supplies, Government of Kerala and various other government and non-government organizations.

Workshops on organic farming and food processing and ethnic food carnival were also held on the sidelines of the expo. (ANI)
