Hyderabad: The voters from Seemandhra region settled in the city are keeping the TRS guessing though the ruling party leaders are displaying bravado by saying that all sections of people will vote for them.It is a fact that the passions that were running hight at the time of bifurcation have died down and now people feel more secure. A lurking fear is said to be continuing to linger in minds of people from Seemandhra.

The political speeches by TRS dubbing TDP as an Andhra Party and that the party and its leader N Chandrababu Naidu have no place here does not seem to have gone down well with the Seemandhra people. While admitting that no harm has been done to them during past 19 mnths, Seemandhra voters in areas like Serlingampally, Qutubullapur, Kukatpally, Jubilee Hills, L B Nagar and Malkajgiri constituencies say that they have not yet made up their mind whether or not to support the TRS. The pink party has made several promises in last 19 months but none of them have taken off.

At least for this time we would prefer candidates with proven track record, they say. Voters of Vivekananda Nagar division see the road shows, door to door to campaign as a political drama that repeats once every five years. The speeches, the promises, offering gifts to women or trying to touch sentiment mental chord by applying “bottu” and ask for vote has become a routine affair and the voters with a smiling face assure everyone that they will support them.

But “I have my own discretion and I will decide to whom to vote depending on the track record of the parties and candidates,: said Priyamvada, a techie in Nizampet who hails from Ongole district. But interestingly, Venkataramana, a rice trader in Balaji Nagar of Kukatpally was more forthcoming. He said he has been staying in Hyderabad for past 20 years.

When the agitation for separate State was at its peak, he was worried with slogans like `Jago and Bhago.’ Things have changed now. “So I do not mind voting for TRS candidate. However, I am trying to assess if he can really attend to our grievances or not. If I am convinced, surely I will vote for him, Venkataramana told The Hans India.

The educated and the middle class sections in some colonies at Kukatpally areas say that while it is a fact that there has been no problem for those who have come from Seemandhra region but the government was yet to prove that it can deliver. So far the government has only been making tall promises and there has been no action. A travel agency head at Malkajgiri area said chances of BJP-TDP combine were more in that area.
