Court seeks probe report against Danam

Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao of the AP High Court on Thursday called for a status report from the government on investigation into the criminal cases against former Minister Danam Nagender. The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Tirupati Varma, an advocate, seeking directions to the authorities for a special and expeditious investigation into the four criminal cases allegedly registered against Nagender. The petitioner pointed out that though cases were registered against the said minister, the police have not investigated and hence the court might monitor the investigation. Though the FIRs were registered in different police stations for various non-cognisable offences including violence against police officers on duty, the police were not investigating the complaints and taking action, the petitioner added.
