High-octane campaign by Sonia, Rahul

• Sonia will tour Telangana on April 16, Rahul on 17th
• Also to address meetings in AP after Apr 28

Hyderabad: Realising that it was lagging behind in campaign, the Congress party has decided to galvanise the rank and file in both Telangana and Seemandhra by organising public meetings to be addressed by AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Sonia is slated to address a meeting in Karimnagar on April 16 and Rahul on the next day at Warangal. APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy and other leaders, who were in Delhi for three days to get approval for the list of candidates, are learnt to have got the nod from the Congress supremo for their appeal to visit the Seemandhra region also.

Sonia and Rahul are likely to address meetings in Seemandhra after April 28. Raghuveera Reddy said, "We are planning to hold public meetings in Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Anantapur.” According to Congress leaders, the AICC president will explain to the people how the Congress party kept its promise and made the dream of Telangana State a reality, even at the cost of losing seats in Seemandhra region. On the other hand, in Seemandhra, she will explain how the Congress high command had persuaded the Centre to deliver special status to the residual AP to make it progress on all fronts as it does not discriminate between any region or part in the country.
