meaGuntur: Speakers exhorted the mechanical engineering students to excel in their jobs during the 13th annual celebrations of Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA) on the premises of Vignan University here on Tuesday. Dr K Phaneendra Kumar, head, School of Mechanical Engineering department, Vignan University, congratulated the students for organising the event. He congratulated students, who got placements in industries like Infotech, Ashok Leyland, Tata Consultancy Services, Consolidated Gulf Company (CGC), Circo-Google and to students who got admissions for Master programme in foreign universities. Dr Madhusudhana Rao, Director DET, advised the students to follow principles in their lives to achieve greater heights. He quoted that students not only should have good knowledge in the subjects, but also good qualities. Prof. MSC Bose, Vice Chancellor of Vignan University, told the students not to forget their 'gurus', who strived hard for their better future. Chief Guest NVL Narasimha Rao, Senior GM, HOD (CPP & utilities), shared experiences in industry and advised all the students to continue post graduation in reputed institutes. He also told them to develop managerial skills which are essential for an engineer. Celebrations continued with various cultural events, while prizes were distributed for those who won in various sports events. NVL Narasimha Rao was felicitated by the dignitaries on the eve of MEA-2k13. Chairman of Vignan Group of Institutions Dr L Rathaiah congratulated all the students for their outstanding performance in their four-year career. He also advised the students to go for higher education to be capable of achieving higher prospects in career.
