The fourth edition of India Aviation 2014 is all set to begin on March 12 at the Begumpet Airport. The event will mark the comeback of aerobatics by daredevil pilots. In 2010, the Civil Aviation Ministry had banned aerobatics after an accident marred the annual event.

This time, daredevil pilots from the famed Mark Jefferies would perform spectacular aerobatics during the event. The Airports Authority of India gave the green signal this time, allowing the organisers to rope in the UK-based aerobatics firm.

“Unlike in the past where aerobatics were held only on the inaugural day, the organisers of the fourth edition have decided to conduct aerobatics twice a day on all the five days of the conference, concluding on March 16,” said G Ashok Kumar, joint secretary, Civil Aviation Ministry.

On Monday, journalists and people working in the air-show stalls were treated to some breathtaking somersaults, freefalls, roll-overs and nail-biting near head-on manoeuvres by two aircraft.

The first three days of India Aviation 2014 are exclusively meant for business visitors, while the last two days are open for the public. The entry fee for business visitors is Rs 700 and Rs 300 for general public. People can buy tickets through BookMyShow and Axis Bank branches.
