Free camp to treat joint pains and disability

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) conducted a free camp at Dayanandnagar in Vidyanagar to help patients suffering from disability and joint pain related problems. Medical science today makes it possible for such people to lead relatively normal lives with the help of advanced technology solutions like prosthetics and orthotics.

“CPO provides a variety of solutions to restore mobility and quality of life in patients afflicted by any form of disability. While it is impossible to replace a natural limb, modern day prosthetic devices can dramatically improve the quality of life of a person. At the same time, technologically advanced orthotic devices like foot insoles, ankle foot orthotics and cranial devices help to a great extent to correct body or bone deformities,” says Vinod Bhanti, chairman, CPO India.

Custom made ankle foot orthotics are braces designed to help control motion of the ankle joint and offer support to the foot. Such orthotics and their variations may be recommended for use to control a severe flatfoot, an unstable ankle, or a foot with painful motion. Custom foot orthotics are also designed to prevent injury in people with diabetic foot – a common cause of amputation among the diabetics.

“Despite the presence of advanced solutions, we have people who keep living difficult lives in the absence of sufficient awareness. Many a time foot deformities go unchecked; often people with diabetes do not take foot care seriously causing serious complications. The idea behind organising the camp is to make people aware and encourage them to seek solutions that can make their lives better and prevent further complications due to deformities,” says Vinod Bhanti, chairman, CPO India.

CPO provides prosthetics, orthotics for spine, ankle and foot; it also provides cosmetic restoration of body parts like silicon eye, ear, nose or finger for people who need it.
