Enchanting vocal concerts and melodious veena recitals marked the second day of the three-day Thyagaraja Swamy Aradhana Utsav being organised by the Vijayawada Music Academy at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Saturday.

Shaik Chinalal Sahib of Macherla, N Bhavya Geetika, Gurucharan and Oruganti Vanaja of Vijayawada presented the vocal concerts. A veena recital by MTBT Sundari of Vijayawada enthralled the audience.
Music College students Balatripura Sundari, Alekhya, Supriya, Kiran Aradhya, Shivani and Kishore rendered keerthanas in Sankeerthanaganam, while Anita, Sudhamayi, Satwika and Suvarna participated in the violin group concert. The two group concerts were organised by Manda Krishnamohan and V Krishnaveni. Instrumental support was given to the concerts by K Subrahmanyaraju on violin, KV Kishore, VMK Sandilya and K Krishna Koushik on mridangam and Ganduri Sreenivasa Murthy on violin.
Later in the day, Varanasi Jyothsna Lakshmi from Hyderabad rendered ‘Girirajasuta’ in Suddha Bangala raga, `Vandanamu Raghunandana’ in Sahana raga, and `Paramatmudu Velege’ in Vagadheeswari raga during her concert. She was well supported by M Suryadeepthi on violin and M Vijayakumar on mridangam.
The violin recital of Vinjamuri Kamala Kiran from the US was impressive wherein he played keerthanas like `Undedi Ramudokkadu’ in Harikambhoji raga, `Makelaravicharamu’ in Ravichandrika raga and `Nadopasana’ in Begada raga. Parupalli Balasubrahmanyam ably supported him on mridangam and M Haribabu on ghatam.
Music college lecturer Manda Krishnamohan who presented a melodious vocal concert, rendered `Nannubrova’, Yetavunaranilakadaneeku’ and `Uyyalalugavayya’ keerthanas. He was supported by Palaparthi Nageswara Rao on violin and NS Kalyanaraman on mridangam.
Swathi Srikrishna of Chennai rendered `Sogasuchudatarama’, `Yevarura’, `Eelapahimam’ keerthanas during her vocal concert which was supported by Vinjamuri Kamala Kanth on violin and Parupalli Subbaraya Phalgun on mridangam.
In his violin recital, Aknodi Sreenivasa Raju of Kakinada rendered `Sundari Ninuvarnimpa’, `Neevantidaivamu’, `Yuktamukadu’ and Pahisree Ramachandra keerthanas. BV Durga Bhavani on mridangam rendered support to him.
The second day of Aradhanotsavam concluded with a vocal duo by Vishnubhotla Sisters Saraswathi and Krishnaveni who started their concert with Guru Keethana `Brovabharama’ followed by `Sarasamadana’ and `Neevallagunadoshamemi’ keerthanas. BVS Maheedhar on violin and BVS Prasad on mridangam gave an excellent support to the vocal concert.
