“Initially, I was very hesitant to start a business. When my husband took up a job in Hyderabad, I stayed at home to take care of my baby and had a lot of free time,” Durga shares. “Once, when I was looking for special gifts for my friends and relatives, it struck me that I could do something in the field. That was when I gave a serious thought to explore the business potential of gift articles.”But ever since foraying into the scene, Durga has become a busy woman, taking orders, producing the gift articles and dispatching them to customers.

Facebook plays an important role for Durga to conduct her business. Her page displays a wide array of gift articles that include candle decorating kits, wall hangings, kundan work key holders, designer silk and stone bangles, pearl decorative, pearl knit door hangings, potli bags, designer clutches, digital print potli bags, decorated palm leaf baskets, handbags, German silver products and many more.

“I started the business seven months ago with a bare minimum investment. Now, I am earning good profits. We deliver the article to the customer after its price is credited into our bank account. We take the responsibility for damage or wrong product during delivery. It helps us win the trust of customers,” Kolli adds.
