A massive rally was taken out by the Bheem Sen Christian Dalits in Guntur to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar on Tuesday.
Thousands of Dalits marched from Amaravathi road and garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar at the Lodge Centre.
Traffic was jammed for nearly an hour as the Lodge Centre, the main junction was connecting several city roads was blocked by hundreds of participants in the motor cycle rally.
Several political party leaders cutting across party lines made a bee line to the Ambedkar Square and paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
Collector Kantilal Dande and Municipal Commissioner Kanna Babu, Guntur MLA Modugula Venugopal, former MLC Rayapati Srinivas and MLC AS Rama Krishna also paid tributes to Ambedkar.
