Gandhigiri at Nannaya University.The Center for Gandhian and Sustainable Development (CGSD), which is the first of its kind in all universities across the country, is going to come up at Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR).

New in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR) Prof EN Dhanamjaya Rao being felicitated by the faculty members after he took charge in Rajahmundry on MondayThe Center for Gandhian and Sustainable Development (CGSD), which is the first of its kind in all universities across the country, is going to come up at Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR). “This center would be a role model in implementing the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s dream projects like Swachh Bharat, Neeru-Chettu, rain-water harvesting, integrated development of rural areas and other studies,” said in-charge VC of Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR) Prof. EN Dhanamjaya Rao.

Dhanamjaya Rao said that he will use his experience as Dean for International studies and Relations in Andhra University at ANUR and introduce 4-year courses by signing MoUs with International Universities like Florida University to get fellowships to the students in 237 affiliated degree colleges in the next one year. He added that the new skill development center which is going to come up in next academic year will develop professional skills, soft skills and communication skill through which students will compete in competitive examination.

Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao opinioned that research forum, which lost its importance, will be revived immediately and more research work will be taken up.He told that the university is putting all its efforts in getting UGC’s 12B status through which the university will get maximum number of funds. The in-charge VC also told that the placement cell, industry-academics interaction desk and other value additions are going to come up in the university.
