Honouring her outstanding service in the field of medicine, All India Goud’s Association (AIGA) will felicitate city-based gynaecologist and obstetrician Dr Manjula Anagani on May 3 at the Jawahar Bala Bhavan. Dr Manjula was recently conferred the Padma Shri.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy and minister for excise T Padma Rao Goud will be chief guests while MPs T Devender Goud, Konakalla Narayana, Boora Narisha Goud and other political leaders will attend the programme. Dr Manjula Anagani, MD, FICOG is the HoD, chief gynecologist, obstetrician, infertility specialist and laparoscopic surgeon at Sunshine Super Speciality Institute, Hitec City.
Manjula has completed her MD in obstetrics and gynecology from Osmania Medical College, following which she underwent training in prenatal genetic evaluation, infertility, ultrasonography and in minimally invasive procedures (hysteroscopy and laparoscopy). Dr Manjula Anagani pioneered the art of laparoscopy in late 90s when it was an emerging technology.
Her achievements include working on ergonomics of woman and evolving newer techniques in laparoscopy and minimal invasive surgery. She came up with a new entry technique to make the surgery less complicated and easier for the surgeon. Since then she has performed more than 10,000 laparoscopic surgeries in gynecology catapulting her at the top slot in the State and one among the few leading laparoscopic surgeons in India.
