Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is on the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, and what is happening around. This summer, Hyderabadis are embracing fashion in style. As the summer steps in slowly, blazing its heat over us it is time to not only change our style, but to bring in things from the past.

“Jumpsuits, easy fluid silhouette, Palazzos, crop tops, flared 50s style skirts and pleated skirts are the new fad,” says Asmita Marwa, a city-based designer who was rated by Vogue as one of nine top up-and-coming international designers. “This scorching summer, people prefer a mix of everything- cotton clothes, loose clothing, etc.

Holiday wear is more easily accepted like shorts, playsuits, palazzos, linen pants, cotton shirts and clothes that allow people to be comfortable and make a fashion statement with their style and elegance,” he added. “A large segment of people in twin cities are very much in tune with the current fashion trends. These include people who have extensively travelled, people belonging from high class society and a good deal of people from other classes and sections,” added Asmita Marwa.

A lot of people undoubtedly indulge in fashion, trends and are updated with the new styles the go around the world and bring them to Hyderabad. The currently trending colours are pastel blues, pinks and yellows. People now live to dwell in these colours. “Young people love the high street more, they go for denims, shorts and casuals,” said Asmita Marwa.

This is the only difference between the younger and older generations. Youngsters prefer more of sheer tops, crop tops, ripped denim, jumpsuits, crazy prints etc. With Hyderabad also turning into budding fashion hubs, people here are all up for it. Though Fine Arts are not given much value in our country, things are changing with more and more wanting to do with fashion. “The industry here is very young but is vibrant and people here want fashion to prevail, they are studying fashion and following the trends”, concludes Asmita.
