TS, AP ex-servicemen press for OROP

Armed Forces ex-servicemen from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Sunday conducted a rally at Picket Grounds to press for One-Rank, One-Pension (OROP) policy, as promised by the Congress and BJP governments. OROP implies equal amount of pension for having served in the same rank and also having rendered the same length of service.

Brigadier Vidya Sagar said, “There are more than eight lakh ex-servicemen in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and over 28 lakh across the country. More than 1 crore people depend on them. Many peaceful protests have been held all over India to push the finance ministry to quickly implement the project. We hope the government will listen to our pleas.”
